Job Description Position Title: APS5/6 Grants Assessment Officers Employment Type: Labour hire (Approx. 6 months, with potential for extension) Location: Canberra, ACT Hourly Pay Rate: APS5: $55.31 - $58.85 per hour 12% superannuation APS6: $61.22 - $73.21 per hour 12% superannuation Security Clearance/Requirements: Minimum Baseline Security Clearance required ABOUT THE ROLE Our client, a Federal Government department, is seeking multiple APS5 and APS6 Grants Assessment Officers to support the delivery of national community infrastructure programs. These programs fund a wide variety of projects that improve liveability in regional communities including sporting facilities, open spaces and community priorities. The team will focus on opening and assessing a new round of community infrastructure applications and managing existing contracts under active programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support assessment of funding applications in line with program guidelines Analyse and assess project proposals with attention to detail Draft briefs, correspondence, and reports for internal stakeholders Ensure records are maintained to departmental standards Apply legislation and program procedures to make sound decisions Assist with risk assessments and identification of mitigation strategies Collaborate with team leaders to resolve complex issues SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Demonstrated experience in grant/project assessment or management Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking ability Confident working with incomplete or ambiguous information Experience with M365 Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneNote Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment Knowledge of government processes and community infrastructure programs (desirable) ELIGIBILITY Australian Citizenship required Minimum Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory Apply now or contact Aiden McLean on (02) 6260 8888 at SOS Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
