Payroll Officer Location: North Brisbane Work Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 plus Super We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, family-owned business with over five decades of success. Due to ongoing expansion, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Payroll Officer to join their North Brisbane team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied role that encompasses end-to-end payroll processing, HR support, and elements of bookkeeping – offering excellent scope for long-term development. About the Role Reporting to the Finance Controller and working within a collaborative administrative team, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing the full payroll cycle while supporting a range of HR and finance functions. This role would suit someone with strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. Key Responsibilities Payroll & HR Functions End-to-end payroll processing (fortnightly) Manage compliance reporting: PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, Child Support Maintain and reconcile payroll records and reports Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation Ensure accurate employee timekeeping and leave management Support HR documentation updates and policy management via Employment Hero Process Workcover and Apprentice/Trainee submissions Manage HR reporting, employee benefits, and staff registers Administrative & Financial Support Manage accounts inboxes, incoming correspondence, and documentation Oversee administrative elements including fuel cards, eToll, mobile accounts and consumables Provide support across finance team during peak periods or as required Assist with system and process improvements across payroll and HR functions About You Previous experience in a similar payroll or payroll/HR hybrid role Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in MYOB and/or similar accounting/payroll software Experience with Employment Hero (desirable, not essential) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic environment A positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow Why Join This Business?
