As t he Head of Networks & Communications , you will drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of our enterprise network. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for shaping the future state of St Vincent's connectivity and communications, ensuring our platforms are secure, reliable, and scalable to support our life-critical health and aged care environments. You will lead a high-performing team of network and communications specialists, driving innovation and best practices across the organisation . This role will have a voice and real impact in a strategic whole of business technology implementation and modernisation. This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in any of ou r Group Head Offices in Sydney , Brisbane or Melbourne on a hybrid working arrangement – 3 days a week in office and 2 days working from home. In this role, there will be a requirement to work on-call or after hours as needed and travel may be . Key responsibilities of the role: Lead the development and execution of the St Vincent's network and unified communications strategy, ensuring alignment with our digital strategy and business objectives Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi), voice, video, and collaboration platforms Drive the adoption of modern technologies, including SD-WAN, zero-trust network access, and network automation to enhance efficiency and security Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of network and communications specialists Establish robust governance frameworks and ensure high availability and performance of critical network and communication systems through proactive monitoring and disaster recovery planning Manage the network and communications services budget, optimi s ing spend and ensuring cost-effective utili s ation of resources Things that work for us: Extensive experience in a senior leadership role managing large-scale enterprise network and communications operations, preferably within a large, complex organisation Deep expertise in network infrastr ucture (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba), unified communications (Microsoft Teams, Cisco Collaboration), and related security technologies Proven track record of successfully leading major network transformation and upgrade initiatives such as network modernisation, contact centre uplift, and enterprise voice transition. You're adept at modernising and scaling digital foundations to support clinical safety, cyber resilience, and operational performance Strong understanding of IT security best practices, governance, and compliance frameworks Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams and to provide hands-on leadership during major incidents and outages Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence at all levels .
