Our Branch is at the forefront of providing critical support to the Commission to facilitate the transformation of the Commission to becoming a highly effective and contemporary regulator. Accordingly, our lawyers work on human rights focused matters which are novel and raise interesting legal issues and directly contribute to the transformation of the Commission and lives of people with disability. The Principal Lawyer will be a part of the Legal Services & Internal Integrity Division senior leadership team responsible for leading and managing the Division in close collaboration with the other Principal Lawyers and Directors in the Division. The key duties of the position include: build and lead a highly performing team of lawyers providing legal support and services to facilitate the development of regulatory policies and legislation provide advice on complex statutory interpretation and administrative law issues cultivate strong productive working relationships with the Commission’s policy teams, the Commission’s in-house legal teams and in-house legal teams of other portfolio agencies, other regulators and key staff in related central agencies delivering and leading the delivery of high quality and timely legal services that are solution and outcome based leading change and supporting staff through organisational change and uncertainty driving improvements to systems and procedures within the Legal Services Branch building a strong workplace and service culture and contributing to the management of the Branch and Division supervising, mentoring and developing junior staff representing the Division in meetings with internal and external stakeholders Getting to know the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Quality and Safeguards Commission The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) offers roles that make a real difference in the community.
