Make a lasting impact on early childhood education across the NT – join QECNT and help shape brighter futures Quality Education and Care NT (QECNT) is the Northern Territory’s regulatory authority responsible for administering the National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood and school-aged education and care services. QECNT ensures the safety, health, and wellbeing of children by monitoring compliance, conducting assessments and ratings, and promoting continuous quality improvement. Working collaboratively with services, educators, and the community QECNT supports best practice, upholds national standards, and drives positive outcomes for children across the Territory. As a Senior Authorised Officer or Authorised Officer, you will monitor legislative quality and compliance of services by conducting visits and investigating of complaints, incidents and noncompliance. You’ll also undertake assessments and ratings of education and care services to assess against the National Quality Standards to support and promote continuous quality improvements in the NT. You’ll be travelling to rural and remote areas by road or light aircraft. About youTo be successful in this role at the AO6 level you’ll have:Strong demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current trends, issues and policy in the education and care services sector including the NQF and Early Years Learning Framework.Demonstrated understanding and experience working within a legislative framework, including the ability to interpret and administer legislation as it applies to the National Education and Care Services Act.Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills, when working with others.High level written and oral communication skills, organisational skills, and a high standard of self-management To be successful in this role at the AO7/P3 level you’ll have:Ability to interpret and administer legislation and achieve high quality professional judgement in the assessment and ratings of services under the National Education and Care Services Act.Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends, issues and policy in the education and care services sector including a strong working knowledge of the NQF.Ability to research and write briefs to produce accurate and reliable reports within tight timeframes.
