About the Role We’re seeking a Cisco Certified Network Engineer for a long-term contracting opportunity within a large enterprise environment in the utilities sector, based in Newstead. This role sits within the Digital Data Networks & Telecommunications team supporting complex data network infrastructure and contributes directly to business-critical platform and transformation initiatives. This position will see you working on both operational and project-based work, with a strong focus on Cisco infrastructure and exposure to a broad range of modern network technologies. Essential Criteria CCNP or CCNA qualification; 5 years' experience in enterprise network operations and design; Relevant demonstrated experience in a large enterprise environment; and Significant experience in data communication operations and maintenance, implementation, testing and documentation. Responsibilities Apply technical knowledge to effectively analyse and resolve incidents and problems with respect to network problems. This includes LAN/WAN, Data Centre, Wireless, ISE, etc; Monitor and report on Data Network metrics and capacity in order to meet agreed service levels and policies; Adhere to and manage established network security standards. Assist with identifying, defining and documenting additional standards where required; Liaise with contract or internal staff to perform implementation activities including network equipment installation and programming, testing and commissioning; and Documentation: system diagrams, design documents, maintenance of standards, test plans and work instructions. Desirable Knowledge and experience with CMNO / ECMS1 / ECMS2; Knowledge of BGP: Path selection, community tagging; Experience in the use of Steelhead Central, Riverbed, Thousand eyes and similar products; and Experience with Cisco NDFC and VXLAN or Cisco ACI.
