This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to work at a firm that’s doing things a little different (and proudly so). The Environment/Team/Culture This is a values-led, people-first law firm, founded by two senior family law specialists who wanted to create a space that’s inclusive, compassionate, and genuinely impactful. The team here is collaborative, social, and far from cookie-cutter. They celebrate individuality and want lawyers who do the same. If you’re looking for somewhere that actually gets what diversity means (not just on paper), this is it. The Role/Types of Clients/Work Involved This client is looking for a Senior Family Lawyer, who has the right attitude, personality and work experience, but also highly tuned in to the human side of family law. Ideally, someone with solid experience in divorce and separation matters, and who is either an LGBTQ ally or has direct experience working in this space. The vibe is professional but relaxed, and you’ll be part of a team that values collaboration and community. The client base is diverse, both culturally and socially. While around 40% of matters relate to LGBTQ clients, many of the remaining clients are neurodiverse, trauma-affected, or from non-traditional family setups. You’ll often work with trans and gender-diverse clients, many of whom come to this firm because they trust them to listen without judgment and handle complex personal matters with care. This firm is known for the way they hold space for clients and take time to unpack the layers. This role is for someone who’s emotionally intelligent, open, and curious. Someone who listens deeply, embraces difference, and has the maturity to navigate sensitive, challenging matters. You’ll have flexibility to work from either the Newtown or Macquarie Park office, plus some WFH, and a team who’s got your back. Is this the right role for me? If you love law, can work with all different types of people, have the attitude to hussle, and want to have fun at work then yes. You’ll be supported to do meaningful work in a genuinely diverse environment where your personality and lived experience are seen as strengths, not something to tone down.
