About the opportunity Reporting to the Chief Surveyor, the Senior Mine Surveyor will be based at Westgold's Northern Operations on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster. This role oversees all surveying activities, ensuring accurate measurement and mapping of mine sites. The successful candidate will manage a team of junior surveyors, verify data quality, supporting planning and operations and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, The role includes Maintaining control network to Mines Department stands or above for both surface and underground Setup of drone network control for surface operations Survey and maintain accurate mine model updates Control Underground development to design Survey calculations Prepare and compile accurate and timely end of month reports Develop, maintain and review safe working practices Survey training of underground personnel Carry out survey tasks in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. What do I need? Tertiary Qualification – Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate (preferred but not essential) 4–5 years relevant Underground Surveying experience Relevant equipment experience Leica, Trimble and Optech CMS Remote Pilot License – Drone (desirable) Ability to communicate effectively and lead a small team to success Knowledge and understanding of Mines Regulations, WH&S and duty of care.
