12 Months contract role with a possible extension Attractive daily pay rate of $1000 super 8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week Hybrid (Work from home Eveleigh) PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: This is a delivery-focused role that demands experience with AI product development, government governance, and large-scale stakeholder engagement within the public sector. You will be responsible for driving the evolution of AI developed products. Acting as the voice of end users (teachers and students), you will guide the product vision, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure that feature development meets pedagogical, ethical, and operational goals. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap aligned with strategic department priorities. Serve as the bridge between users (teachers, students), Chief AI Office, executive leadership, compliance, and governance teams. Ensure diverse voices are heard and used to shape the product. Continuously gather user feedback from school networks to populate the backlog of features for Executive approval. Ensure all product features adhere to NSW Government data protection, AI ethics, and privacy-by-design principles. Interface with legal, risk, and compliance bodies. Assist with translating business and user needs into user stories, and acceptance criteria. ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS: Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager delivering AI-powered tools. Strong understanding of public sector governance, particularly around data security, digital policy, and AI assurance frameworks. Proven ability to shape and deliver complex roadmaps involving technical, ethical, and operational challenge. Familiarity with Agile delivery, user-centred design, and education technology. Knowledge of Generative AI. Background in government digital delivery. Familiarity with EdTech and experience working in or with public education systems.
