We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Commercial Partnerships to join our Energy Solutions team in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager Gas Commercial, you will lead a high-performing team of three in the development and negotiation of high-value commercial arrangements across APA’s east coast gas pipeline and storage infrastructure portfolio. This senior leadership role focuses on shaping strategic partnerships with key customers, structuring agreements that optimise growth, manage risk, and align with regulatory requirements, while fostering strong, long-term stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities, leading evaluation, business case development, deal structuring, and negotiation to maximise long-term value Develop and execute commercial strategies that align with APA’s corporate objectives and market positioning Lead the design and negotiation of high-value commercial contracts across gas transport and storage services Support joint ventures, new asset builds, and acquisition opportunities through expert commercial insight and partnering with Business Development and Strategy & Corporate Development teams Monitor and manage relationships with APA’s strategic customers, serving as a senior point of contact to foster long-term satisfaction, retention, and growth Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Regulatory and Operational teams to ensure compliant, risk-mitigated, and customer-centric outcomes Engage and influence key stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies, to support APA’s commercial and policy objectives About You Proven experience in leading and negotiating complex commercial partnerships in the energy, infrastructure, or related sectors Strong understanding of gas transport and storage commercial models, regulatory frameworks, and risk management Demonstrated ability to drive commercial growth through strategy, innovation, and customer partnership Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior executives, government and industry bodies Strong financial acumen and commercial modelling experience, with a track record of developing compelling business cases and pricing strategies Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and leading through change Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
