In this role you will:- Lead strategic engagement and develop and deliver a whole-of-government and multi-sector engagement strategy aligned with the Brisbane 2032 vision and monitor, report and amplify stakeholder sentiment and alignment.- Establish and Manage stakeholder relationships and build and sustain trusted relationships with key partners including state and federal government agencies, Games delivery bodies (Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Paralympics Australia (PA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), councils, cultural leaders, sponsors, and community groups.- Provide high-level strategic advice and support to the Deputy Director-General and senior leaders on emerging issues, risks, and opportunities relating to stakeholder engagement and communication and represent the Office in intergovernmental fora and working groups.- Lead strategic communications and oversee the development of communication strategies that inform, inspire, and align diverse stakeholders while building public trust and transparency.- Lead and coordinate Major Event Messaging and support the Media and Communications team when under pressure around key Games announcements, milestones, global opportunities, and crisis scenarios.- Promote legacy outcomes and drive consistent messaging that highlights the long-term impact of the Games, including social, economic, infrastructure, and reputational outcomes.- Exemplify outstanding communication and negotiation skills to influence at senior executive levels , around strategic engagement and media relations, public speaking, and executive-level writing.- Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
