About the Role This versatile role involves supporting day-to-day catering operations by maintaining high standards of hygiene, assisting with food preparation and traying, managing storeroom inventory and upholding food safety protocols. The position also includes providing general support across kitchen and service areas. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, as is a commitment to organisational values, timely reporting any concerns, active participation in meetings and collaborative problem-solving. The position includes, but is not limited to: Primary Duties Maintain hygiene and workflow by performing post-wash tasks Manage daily stock and stocktake inventory Keep the cool room and freezer clean and organised Assist with meal traying and basic food preparation Follow designated delivery routes and schedules Support catering and facility teams in delivering quality food service Complete required logs and reports accurately Adhere to accreditation and food safety standards Offer general assistance across kitchen/service areas Uphold core values of respect, teamwork, and service excellence Secondary Duties (As Directed) Deliver meals and groceries to different facilities as required Handle loading, unloading, inspecting, and operating delivery vehicles Contribute to wider catering tasks as guided by management Essential skills and attributes (selection criteria): Food Handling Certificate Sound experience with cleanliness and hygiene standards and protocols Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently. Problem-solving skills for low-complexity issues and knowing when to escalate. Experience in aged care or healthcare settings is desirable. Friendly disposition Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Organised, systematic, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
