As the HR Advisor, you’ll play a central role in supporting the team with day-to-day HR advisory needs. You'll be the first point of contact, someone who can step in, provide guidance, and support staff as they walk through the door. This is a varied role that requires someone confident, approachable, and proactive. You’ll work across a range of HR functions, including employee and industrial relations, workers' compensation, wellbeing initiatives, and performance management. You’ll be part of a small team that steps in to support each other during peak periods. This means you may occasionally assist with tasks across other functions, offering variety and the opportunity to build broader experience. In this role, you’ll also liaise with internal stakeholders across the school, providing practical and strategic HR support where needed. Duties of the role: Interpret and apply relevant awards and industrial instruments to maintain IR compliance Provide comprehensive advice, including grievance and dispute resolution Support performance and conduct management processes, including facilitation of review meetings and workshops as required Conduct contract audits, manage casual conversion processes and assist with general contract reviews Assist with WHS case management and workers’ compensation processes (training available if required) Lead or contribute to HR‑related projects (e.g. appraisal system implementation, wellbeing initiatives) Manage the HR reporting, statistical analysis and presentation of insights to managers Partner with different teams across the school to support inductions, onboarding and general HR administration support Provide administrative support and contribute to ongoing process improvements and resolution of HR queries as they arise Undertake additional duties as directed by the Head of HR The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience within a similar role, within the school or education sector Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline Experience or willingness to learn WHS and Work compensation (training can be provided) Strong understanding of Award interpretation and relevant employment legislation Enjoys working collaboratively as a team, but also autonomously Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Paid valid working with children’s check What’s in it for you?
