About the role The Electrician is responsible for efficient and cost effective electrical installations, maintenance and minor / new electrical works for the West Moreton Health District. The key responsibilities of the role include: Efficiently organise, prioritise and complete allocated trade tasks including ensuring availability of materials, meeting deadlines and ensuring that required standards are met. This includes the provision of maintenance and compliance certificates where required. Provide trade services and advice to the Infrastructure and Assets team and other appropriate personnel on issues relating to electric/electronic services including assisting in the preparation of quotations and reports. Ensure quality and effective work practices, in accordance with codes, regulations and facility policies. Ensure work is reported using the standard reporting methodology and recording of facility documents. Undertake all trade related duties within the area of expertise and statutory legal obligations while supporting and contributing to our asset management system and key performance indicators. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Experience and knowledge relating to installation and maintenance management of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in single and multi-storey buildings similar to large, major health care facilities. Ability to prioritise works, projects, timeframes and manage costs, make responsible and accurate recommendations and produce an effective work output in terms of both quality and quantity without supervision. Ability to manage and coordinate major equipment installation and/or refurbishment projects. Ability to work effectively and safely as a member of a team or individually, and experience managing service contractors and/or interacting, communicating and negotiating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to effectively investigate problems, provide options and implement suitable solutions. Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 Possession of a Queensland recognised Electrical Trade Qualification and licence.
