Join a high-performing Internal Comms team and use your skills and creativity to help keep our 700 staff informed and engaged. We're currently seeking a Senior Communication Officer (AO5) to join our internal Communication team. We're looking for a positive team member with great writing ability, attention to detail and interpersonal skills who is passionate about culturebuilding. We pride ourselves on best practice in internal comms, and we're looking for a like-minded colleague to join us.You will join a three-person team located in a larger Media and Communication unit. You will work with other team members to make sure the department's 700 plus staff across Queensland have the information they need to do their job well and to feel positive and passionate about working for DLGWV. We have exceptional departmental culture, and your work will be a key part of supporting and embedding that culture with staff. This is a fun and highly varied role, encompassing everything from intranet newsposts and publishing updates to HR campaigns, all-staff emails and whole-ofdepartment events. We do a lot of storytelling, so we're looking for a great writer who can connect with a colleague and tell their tale - whether that's one of our field staff or a member of the executive. We liaise extensively with the Departmental Leadership Team, so it's important that you understand the protocols for working with executive offices. You will also need to feel comfortable switching between strategic thinking and tactical delivery, and responding to the emerging priorities, as we operate in a fastpaced (but fun!), high volume environment. Key platforms in use include a SharePoint intranet, Vision6 for electronic direct mail, Teams Live for town halls etc and Monday.com our workflow management system. Ideally you will have experience in these or similar platforms, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire it. You'll also demonstrate strong attention to detail, as you'll be expected to proof intranet content submitted by the business, and act as an account manager between the business and the media and communication team. If you're also a photo ninja on your phone, that's a plus, as we use images of staff to drive much of our engagement. An internal comms background will be regarded favourably but, if you're a great comms generalist who'd like to get some experience in internal comms, we'd love to hear from you too. This is a temporary position to 30 May 2026, with the possibility of extension. Applications to remain current for 12 months. Job Ad Reference: QLD/647169/25Closing Date: Monday, 21 July 2025
