Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Director of Research and Grants. This position offers the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of MAIC's Research and Grants Program, providing high-level advice to the General Manager and Insurance Commissioner. You will manage a significant budget for research, grants and infrastructure investment, focusing on delivering a return on investment and improved outcomes for the scheme and broader community benefits.As the successful candidate, you will bring substantial knowledge and experience in research and grants programs, including the ability to analyse, interpret, and provide high-level advice about research and grant applications. Your excellent influencing and negotiation skills will enable you to build and maintain internal and external relationships, communicating complex information to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.You will lead and manage a small team of research officers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of information. Your highly developed leadership skills will be instrumental in developing and managing teams to deliver effective research delivery and strategic outcomes.Your role will involve managing key stakeholder relationships, including university partners, insurers, health providers, and other government departments. You will represent MAIC in a variety of high-level forums at national, inter-governmental and industry committees and working parties on strategic policy issues.To be successful, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared values, and a broad skillset that includes strategic thinking, collaboration, and a focus on the strategic direction and development of research frameworks and policies.
