Your opportunity The Financial Controller, Funds Management is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, reporting, and controls across Mirvac’s managed funds, joint ventures and mandates. Reporting directly to the GM, Finance and Operations – Funds Management, this role is responsible for financial accounting processes, integrity of financial data, internal and external reporting, managing auditors and is instrumental in maintaining robust internal controls, driving efficiency and a high performing team. In this role you will be responsible for the following: People leadership: Build a high performing finance team, fostering close collaboration with the Group Advisory Solutions function and across divisions and departments, in a manner that maximises business outcomes. Actively develop people, culture and capability with own team whilst contributing to the culture of the broader team. Reporting and audit: Delivery of all financial reporting and analysis activities for Mirvac’s managed funds, joint ventures and mandates. This includes co-ordination and engagement across Group Advisory Solutions and other stakeholders as required, the preparation of Board papers and investor reporting. Manage the end-to-end audit process with external auditors. Financial control and governance: Ensure robust and reliable processes, controls and governance are in place across the finance function for Mirvac’s managed funds, joint ventures and mandates, including maintaining the effective operation of controls within the GS007 framework. Identify opportunities and implement solutions to ensure efficient, transparent and effective processes, controls and governance. Manage periodic control self-assessments to monitor compliance with controls. Policies, procedures and RACIs: Perform regular reviews and updates to finance related policies, key procedures and RACIs, document new policies, procedures and RACIs as required. External stakeholders and service providers: Build strong relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors and tax advisors to ensure smooth delivery of advice and opinions. Manage relationships and drive outcomes with the Mirvac Service Centre in Manila, to provide offshore support to the onshore Finance team. Support the Wholesale Investor Relations Team with the review of external registry information and reporting. Tax: Responsible for overseeing day to day tax compliance activities and collaborating with Group tax on complex matters and key transactions. Treasury: Work alongside the Group Treasury team to ensure appropriate cashflow management, debt compliance and reporting is in place across Mirvac’s managed funds, joint ventures and mandates. Continuous Improvement and transformation: Identify and drive implementation of improvement opportunities through process redesign, system review and best practice adoption to enhance the Funds Management control environment and reporting processes in a collaborative manner. Actively support transformational change and continuous improvement in finance in line with Mirvac’s strategic direction and any finance operating model enhancements. Systems: Develop a technological efficient culture which integrates automation, new and emerging technologies with the maintenance and development of accounting systems to improve the system functionality and capability whilst maintaining financial data integrity at all times. Financial insights: Provide accurate and timely financial information to Fund Managers and investors to drive performance, by providing insights, analysis, variance commentary, support for onboarding and offboarding and other ad hoc reporting as required. Your point of difference To be successful, you will be CA/CPA qualified with broad experience across various facets of financial control incl. reporting, technical accounting, controls, tax and treasury. Experience working within funds management, investment management or property is preferred. You have demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities incl. experience in managing an offshore service provider, and have experience operating effectively within a GS007 framework. Prior experience in leading process optimisation, efficiency and transformation will be required for this role.
