The company plays a key role in the National Electricity Market (NEM), with a strategic focus on market intelligence and transition planning. The role sits within the energy market and commercial analytics function, providing critical insights to internal stakeholders. About the Role You will provide analysis and modelling of wholesale market outcomes, supply–demand dynamics and pricing forecasts. Your work will support internal trading and strategy teams in evaluating risk, planning dispatch and guiding commercial decisions. You’ll monitor regulatory, policy and market updates to assess their implications, and work closely with analysts, economists and commercial leaders across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Deliver NEM price forecasts and market simulations using internal models and external data Analyse historical and forward market trends to support commercial strategy Prepare dashboards and reports on market performance and generation outcomes Contribute to long-term modelling and scenario planning for investment decisions Engage with stakeholders across trading, finance, operations and strategy teams Support the integration of renewable and storage assets into market analysis Contribute to regulatory submissions with data-backed insights Maintain awareness of market rule changes, policy developments and emissions targets This role supports commercial activity across: Retail Strategy – pricing, hedging and portfolio forecasting Wholesale Trading – bid optimisation and dispatch planning Generation Assets – market performance and revenue modelling Finance & Risk – exposure analysis and risk mitigation Policy & Regulatory Affairs – market reform modelling and policy engagement Candidate Profile 3 years’ experience in energy market modelling, forecasting or commercial analytics Understanding of NEM dynamics, bidding strategies and dispatch outcomes Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Python or similar tools Experience using market datasets, forecasting tools or energy simulation platforms Excellent written and verbal communication skills Degree qualified in economics, engineering, mathematics or a related field What’s on Offer • Competitive salary package and performance incentives • Hybrid working model with flexible arrangements • Work with a collaborative and high-performing analytics team • Career growth opportunities in a major energy business • Training and development support for energy market specialisation To express your interest, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter via the application portal.
