The energy markets team supports commercial optimisation and market participation strategies through deep analytical capabilities and regulatory insight. About the Role As Energy Market Analyst, you will support the commercial and regulatory analysis required to optimise participation of distributed energy assets and flexible loads in Australia's electricity markets. You will be responsible for producing insights on pricing, dispatch, regulatory trends and energy asset performance. Your work will directly support commercial strategy, customer value realisation, and regulatory engagement in a fast-evolving sector. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyse electricity market trends, pricing, and dispatch outcomes Support demand-side participation and VPP strategies through forecasting and modelling Conduct regulatory impact analysis and market rule reviews Develop dashboards and analytical tools to support internal and customer-facing teams Prepare market insights and commentary for external communication and commercial planning Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, operations and technology teams This role supports commercial activity across: Demand Response & Flexibility Services – customer program performance and dispatch optimisation Electricity Market Operations – pricing, bidding, constraints, and FCAS participation Regulatory Strategy – impact analysis of evolving NEM rule changes Customer Solutions – supporting VPP, solar, storage and energy advisory propositions Analytics & Forecasting – load forecasting, price modelling, and dispatch simulation Candidate Profile 2–5 years’ experience in electricity market analysis, forecasting, or commercial energy roles Strong understanding of NEM pricing, dispatch and demand-side dynamics Analytical proficiency with tools such as Python, Excel, or SQL Knowledge of distributed energy systems, VPPs, or demand response is advantageous Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings clearly Tertiary qualifications in economics, engineering, science or a related discipline What’s on Offer Global energy business committed to innovation in energy services Dynamic role working across energy, tech, and customer solutions Flexible hybrid working environment Exposure to one of the fastest growing segments of the energy transition Professional development opportunities and global career pathways To express your interest, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter via the application portal.
