Primary Purpose In conjunction with the Head of Enterprise Legal, the Legal Counsel, Enterprise is responsible for providing legal advice to Rest Business Units, Board and management regarding Rest’s legal rights and duties in respect of the commercial activities of Rest. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities Provide legal advice and guidance on the commercial contracting needs of Rest. Manage the timely review and negotiation of legal agreements and documentation, including detailed analysis of complex contractual relationships with significant service providers. Provide legal advice and guidance on the commercial contracting IT contracting and advisory. Provide legal advice and guidance on the commercial contracting Tax law. Provide legal advice and guidance on the employment law needs of Rest. Maintain a good working knowledge of regulatory matters and regulatory change relating to Rest. Advise on proposed and actual regulatory changes to stakeholders, as required. Participate in industry forums to provide input and discussions on regulatory changes and communicate outcomes to relevant internal stakeholders as required. Ongoing project support as required, including participation in project teams, legal review of documentation and communication materials arising out of projects. Preparation and review of relevant Rest policies as required. Preparation of reports for Board and Board Committees Attendance at Rest Executive and/or Management Team meetings as required to provide legal input. Liaising with external legal providers, auditors, fund administration and regulators when required Encourage sharing of knowledge and expertise amongst Rest staff. Manage the delivery of legal training to Rest Business Units Responsible for participating in a culture of cooperation, initiative and responsibility throughout Rest to maintain a safe and healthy workplace, and meeting the requirements of Rest’s WHS policies and Management System
