The opportunity This is a critical leadership role focused on operational performance, quality, uplift and workforce capability. Reporting into Chief Operations Officer and working collaboratively with the QLD and WA counterpart, this role oversees approximately 50 early learning services located across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Leading a team of committed Area Directors, each looking after approximately 8 services each, you will be responsible for: Achieving a culture of accountability, quality, and compliance across services. Building leadership capability and driving stability through coaching, development and cultural alignment. Developing and implementing strategies to address performance gaps and improve performance. Operationalising national strategic initiatives at service level through your team of Area Directors. Using data to inform decision making, monitoring performance trends and targeted interventions to improve quality of outcomes, retention and development of educators, high attention to detail around compliance and best practice, instilling a culture of pride and excellence. You will be a key partner to the COO, ensuring that every centre delivers on Busy Bees’ vales and standards, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. About you Key skills, essential criteria and desirables. Deep Early Childhood Education sector expertise, with strength of knowledge in regulatory frameworks and national regulations. Multi-site operational experience within the early childhood sector. Experience leading teams through change, embedding a culture of rigour and responsibility. Proven ability to uplift performance in complex multi-site settings. Skilled in influencing and coaching senior leaders to build capability at all levels. Strong upwards reporting and data-led decision making. High commercial acumen with the ability to identify optimisation opportunities without compromising on quality. Melbourne based or willing to relocate to Melbourne, with capacity for regular travel interstate.
