Let’s talk about this role This role reports directly to the Group Executive Legal & Chief Risk Officer, providing and/or facilitating accurate and sound legal advice on a range of commercial matters that contributes to the achievement of nib’s strategic plan with a primary focus on the aphi and Travel businesses. You will assist and support the Company Secretary in the co-ordination of board and committee activities for subsidiary boards ensuring best practice governance principles are applied. Engaging with regulators like APRA, ASIC, and the ACCC, and overseeing compliance obligations, including governance and regulatory reporting, and contribute to policy development and risk management. Key responsibilities include providing legal advice on mergers & acquisitions, private health insurance, NDIS, general insurance, ASX rules, corporate, competition and consumer law as well as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and advice. We are looking for a highly experienced legal professional with a law degree and 10 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in both private practice and in-house legal environments. You will be self-driven with strong organisational, presentation, and communication skills, alongside sound commercial judgment and high-level interpersonal abilities. You will possess a solid understanding of company statutory reporting requirements and corporate governance principles.
