Let’s talk about this role This is a permanent part time position, 3 days per week (22.8 hours). As the Category Manager, you are responsible for formulating and implementing procurement plans and contract initiatives across the wider nib group of companies to optimise third party spend on goods and services. This includes supply market research, strategic planning, contract negotiation and execution. Manage risk and compliance activities to meet business and regulatory requirements. The focus of this position will be on adding value and a high level of service to internal customers to source and manage key commodities and services of strategic importance for the business in order to achieve the strategic needs of the business and that the expected value for money is realised via regular reviews of the group contract management system and engagement with contract owners to obtain the best commercial outcomes. Day to day you will: Formulate, support, deliver and implement procurement and contract initiatives for third party spend on goods and services Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement Develop detailed Contract Management Plans, KPIs, performance reviews, governance structures, resources, benefits tracking and reporting for significant projects and procurement categories Capture regulatory requirements and obligations to ensure compliance as necessary Let’s talk about you The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in a strategic procurement role, with a strong track record in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management. You will bring proven expertise in category management and strategic sourcing, including the development and execution of category plans that deliver commercial value and mitigate risk. A solid understanding of procurement operations and contract management is essential, along with experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier agreements. The role requires strong analytical skills, including spend analysis, market research, and cost modelling to support data-driven decision-making.
