About the role Perform a variety of routine and transfusion medicine, contributing to accurate and timely diagnostics. Monitor quality control performance, participate in external QA programs, and assist with internal audits to ensure high standards and compliance. Maintain laboratory equipment, manage reagent and consumable stock levels, and coordinate specimen referrals and report tracking with external labs. Communicate effectively with clinicians, wards, and external sites, ensuring urgent or critical results are delivered promptly and clearly. Work as part of a supportive team, participate in ongoing training and education sessions, apply analytical thinking to solve complex lab issues, and stay current with best practices in pathology. About you You’ve got a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent), with a solid foundation in transfusion medicine from a recognised tertiary institution. You bring recent, hands-on experience in haemostasis testing—bonus points if you’ve worked with platelet aggregation and haemoglobin studies too! You’re comfortable navigating lab IT systems—tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and ready to troubleshoot when needed. You’re a self-starter who can confidently work independently but also thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment.
