About the role The position of Student Support Officer is primarily responsible for providing strong administrative support to the V ocational Education and Training (VET) team. The position is a key point of contact for the d epartment across the university with students and staff . The position reports to the Operations Manager, Vocational Education Training (VET). Key Responsibilities Support the VET team with daily administrative tasks. Maintain accurate student records as per ASQA compliance. Audit student files at course completion and cancellation , ensuring accuracy. Assist students with enrolments, progress, and certification queries. Manage data in registers and ensure the Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) / Learning Management Systems ( LMS ) systems and program information is accurate and up to date. Coordinate meetings and prepare reports and document ation. Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders to support VET operations . Follow all university policies and compliance standards Qualifications, skills & experience A relevant Degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training. Demonstrated administrative capability with previous experience within the Vocational Education and Training sector, particularly a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Demonstrated prior experience in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) work environment with knowledge and understanding of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) training packaging requirements and experience with government funded programs. Proficient in the application of MS Office program suite and an ability to work across different computer systems including Learning Management Systems (LMS’s) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM’s) systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact with all students, staff and with external stakeholders. Strong operational administration skills, able to remain composed and effectively prioritise tasks with competing deadlines. Excellent at organising tasks and managing time efficiently, with a strong attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of initiative, flexibility, and proactive solution development.
