Produce and contribute to key artefacts such as solution context diagrams, sequence diagrams, data flow models, and integration specifications. Evaluate existing solutions and third-party products to determine alignment with the componentised architecture strategy. Take ownership of end-to-end traceability of technical requirements, ensuring solution components are aligned with business value and secure-by-design. Facilitate technical workshops to elicit non-functional requirements, integration needs, and deployment considerations across systems. Represent SDP in technical workshops related to Digital Platforms. Collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to ensure alignment between technical requirements and business objectives, while independently driving technical analysis activities. Ensure all service designs and data exchanges comply with gov.au security standards, including identity management, data sovereignty, and secure service exposure patterns. Perform data mapping, and review of UX designs to confirm technical viability of solutions. Assess current capabilities and limitations, guiding service extraction, rationalisation, or redesign decisions based on architectural and security standards. Support Domain Architects to develop transitional technical analysis for a componentised platform aligned with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. Support Domain Architects to decompose monolithic application functions into discrete services and Application Programming Interface (APIs), producing detailed artefacts such as interface definitions, service contracts, technical workflows, and data mappings. Create implementable technical user stories (when required) from business requirements, or augment business-authored user stories to make them implementable. Understand and incorporate multiple complex technical considerations especially from the agency and vendor perspectives to produce pragmatic outcomes. Essential criteria At least 7 to 9 years working as Technical Analyst or “Tech BA” in a large-scale delivery environment. Computer Science/Information Systems degree or equivalent. Extensive experience with technical analysis & design in the delivery of modern applications. Strong working knowledge of API concepts and integration platforms (e.g. Boomi, MuleSoft, etc) and strong understanding of data modelling. Great communication skills with demonstrated experience facilitating workshops with multidisciplinary stakeholders. Ability to understand and incorporate: Multiple complex technical considerations especially from the agency and vendor perspectives to produce pragmatic outcomes. Self-driven and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, understand the big picture, and zoom into technical detail when needed. Demonstrated systems delivery experience within agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery frameworks, providing ongoing technical analysis support throughout the project lifecycle. Desirable criteria Demonstrated prior knowledge and experience of complex government and/or government-based projects. Strong experience with Business Process mapping/Re-engineering background for B2C & B2B Service processes, ideally in public sector domains like disability or health care. Prior experience in public sector projects and working with governance, compliance, and cross-agency stakeholder environments. Computer Science/Information Systems degree or equivalent. Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
