Your Role & Team We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of our consolidated monthly financial accounts. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and CFO on a range of critical finance functions, including tax effect accounting, R&D tax returns, annual audits, and compliance with statutory obligations. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional to make a real impact within a high-performing finance team. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and is a full-time opportunity offering hybrid working conditions out of our Sydney CBD Office . Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to: Financial Reporting Prepare monthly financial reports in line with AASB and IFRS standards. Preparation and review of monthly consolidated financial statements, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. General Ledger Management Maintain the general ledger and ensure account integrity through balance sheet reconciliations. Review and post complex accounting entries, including inter-company transactions. Tax Prepare and lodge BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, and other statutory compliance requirements as required. Assist in the preparation of annual income tax & R&D returns in coordination with external tax advisors. Audit and Compliance Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process. Process Improvement Identify and implement improvements in financial systems, reporting, and processes. Team Leadership and Collaboration Provide guidance and mentoring to junior finance team members. Collaborate cross-functionally with business units to support decision-making and enhance financial performance. Our ideal candidate To be successful in this role, you’ll have at least 5 years experience within finance. You'll ideally have spent some time with one of the Big 4 and had exposure to working in a fast-paced start/ scale-up tech environment - bonus points for SaaS . We'll need to see that you are degree qualified in accounting and have attained your CA . Further to this, you'll be a go-getter , take a proactive and autonomous approach to your work, and show natural curiosity . You're attention to detail , collaboration and time management skills will be second to none.
