These services include financial management and regulatory reporting, maintenance of accounting records and internal controls, financial analysis and planning, tax planning and compliance, treasury, global sourcing and payment processing, regular reviews of business line performance, asset record maintenance, liaison with external authorities on financial reporting matters. In addition, Finance assists Corporate Development in providing financial advice regarding CIBC’s business opportunities and transactions. LINE OF BUSINESS DESCRIPTION Finance Shared Services, Australia is a one stop shop providing the full suite of Finance services to the Australia office which currently comprises of a local subsidiary group and a branch. The team performs Financial regulatory, management and statutory reporting, accounts payables and expense accounting and taxation. The team provides value by helping clients and partners to make effective decisions, compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, processing of vendors invoices and expenses, participation and support of global and regional projects/initiatives. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Management Reporting Daily Profit and Loss validation of source system against actual customer trades and report to Business and Head Office. Circulation of the Daily CB and FLM P&L to the stakeholders. Support and ensure the completion and accuracy of month end close including balance sheet account reconciliations and month end journal postings ; Assist in preparation of monthly Management Accounts and Financial Accounts; Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly Head Office reporting such as tax schedules, PnL/DFE true up reporting, Supplementary Information Reporting for securities and Lease Commitments as required. Regulatory Reporting Assist with the preparation of Year End Accounts and Financial Statements for local subsidiaries; Assist in preparing tax related working papers, Country by Country (CbC) reporting liaise with the tax agent on queries and issues; Assist in the preparation of GST (BAS) returns and Income Activity Statement (IAS) returns to tax office. Assist with year-end external audit and respond to auditors queries; Maintain Tax Fixed Asset Register and reconciliation of Tax vs Accounting at year end; Transaction Processing Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions; Reconciliations; Ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting policies and processes including preparation of journal entries on a daily and monthly basis. Liaison with Business and Operations to ensure proper processing of Wall Street and ACBS transactions including fees processing; SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED At least 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience Good interpersonal & communications skills Good understanding of basic accounting concepts and billing/payment processes Good PC skills, including Excel, Word.
