The Position Sharp & Carter are currently partnering with a National organisation based in Brisbane's Eastern suburbs to recruit a permanent full-time Senior Finance Officer. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position plays a key role within the finance team and is responsible for delivering high-quality bookkeeping, month-end close and financial reporting across a portfolio of clients. This role will suit an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional who is looking to build a long-term career within a fast-paced, collaborative finance function. Key Responsibilities Managing end-to-end month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reallocations and reconciliations Processing General Ledger journals and other end-of-month entries Reviewing and processing bank transactions Completing month-end close off for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Bank Accounts Preparing bank statement and balance sheet reconciliations, along with supporting schedules Reporting on accounts receivable and accounts payable Processing client and supplier invoices, and managing payments to suppliers, subcontractors and other creditors Reviewing payroll reports and adjustments Monitoring working capital balances and cash flow Assisting with year-end audit, including audit packs, reconciliations, variance analysis and auditor queries Preparing financial reports, variance analysis and working capital insights Supporting the development of Power BI dashboards and data-driven reporting Collaborating closely with the wider finance team to resolve issues and drive process improvement Skills & Experience Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline Minimum 3 years' hands-on accounting experience, including month-end responsibilities Strong accounting knowledge with the ability to interpret financial data Experience working within ERP/accounting systems Exposure to year-end audit preparation highly regarded Actively working towards CA/CPA, or CA/CPA qualified Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, modelling and data analysis Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Proactive and committed to continuous improvement, with a genuine interest in building a long-term finance career How to Apply Sharp & Carter often have a range of positions available that may not yet be advertised.
