Finance and Payroll Officer | Hybrid | Brisbane Our client is a highly regarded design-led professional services business with a collaborative and people-focused culture. They are seeking an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join their Brisbane finance team on a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. Working as part of a close-knit finance team, you will play a key role in supporting payroll for a national workforce while also managing corporate expenses, travel reconciliations and a range of finance administration duties. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Payroll Manager and Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include: Assisting with the preparation and processing of end-to-end payroll Maintaining employee payroll records and updating new starter information Reviewing timesheets and ensuring payroll compliance with relevant legislation and company policies Preparing payroll reconciliations including superannuation, payroll tax and PAYG Responding to payroll enquiries from employees Preparing employment variations and payroll-related documentation Processing Government Paid Parental Leave administration Managing high-volume corporate credit card reconciliations Reviewing and processing employee expense claims Reconciling travel expenses and ensuring all supporting documentation is received and accurately recorded Following up employees and suppliers to obtain outstanding invoices and receipts Investigating and resolving finance discrepancies Supporting month-end processes and assisting the wider finance team as required Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What you'll bring To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation Experience processing employee expenses, corporate credit cards or travel reconciliations Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Outstanding organisational and time management abilities Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with employees and external suppliers The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement Experience using payroll or ERP systems such as Deltek, Micropay or similar will be highly regarded What's in it for you?
