About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a mid level commercial lawyer to join Ford as Legal Counsel. In this in-house role, you will support commercial operations across Australia, New Zealand and the broader region. Reporting to the Lead Counsel and Company Secretary, you will be responsible for managing and advising on a range of legal matters including commercial transactions, market compliance, privacy, competition and consumer law, franchising and corporate governance. About you This role is ideal for a driven, proactive, commercially astute mid level lawyer with 4 to 6 years’ quality commercial advisory and contractual drafting experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or dynamic in-house environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and act as a trusted adviser to stakeholders. Quality commercial law experience is essential to the role. Experience across privacy, technology/connectivity and consumer law matters will be highly beneficial. Experience in the automotive sector will be an advantage but is not essential. Your strong technical capability is balanced by a responsive, pragmatic, commercially astute, service oriented and outcomes focused approach. You are able to confidently interact with a range of stakeholders. You are accountable, credible, collaborative and capable of communicating in a clear and concise manner.
