About The RoleTaylex Australia is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of month-end reporting and play a genuine commercial partnering role within a manufacturing and stock-based environment. You’ll work closely with operational teams, providing the insight and analysis that supports real business decisions, while strengthening our financial systems and controls. What You'll Be Doing Month-End & Financial Reporting• Lead and coordinate the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate completion• Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed variance analysis• Provide clear financial commentary on key drivers, risks and opportunities• Investigate unusual movements and resolve discrepancies proactively• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed and well documentedIntercompany & Reconciliations• Manage intercompany invoicing and reconciliations• Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in a timely mannerBudgeting, Forecasting & Analysis• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes• Analyse performance against budget and forecast with meaningful insights• Contribute to improving forecasting accuracy and financial visibilityCommercial & Operational Partnering• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and scenario analysis• Identify cost efficiencies and performance improvement opportunities• Bring independent problem-solving and practical, workable solutions• Assist with scenario modelling and financial impact analysisSystems & Continuous Improvement• Use financial systems (EXO, Power BI) to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency• Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial controls• Reduce manual processes through smarter system use and structured workflowsCompliance & Governance• Ensure financial reporting complies with company policy and accounting standards• Support audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation• Provide backup support for key finance functions when required What We're Looking For • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (CA/CPA or working towards highly regarded)• Proven experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or a stock-based business• Strong working knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations and management reporting• Experience with ERP/financial systems (EXO experience an advantage) and Power BI or similar reporting tools• A commercial mindset with the confidence to partner with operational stakeholders• Strong analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines Why Join Taylex • Be part of a well-established, growing Australian manufacturing business• A varied role that goes beyond reporting – genuine exposure to commercial decision-making• Supportive team environment with opportunities to drive process improvement
