We are a solar first site lighting specialist, helping customers move away from diesel and design better lighting outcomes for real conditions. We are entering our next phase of growth and building a stronger, more disciplined operations engine to support it. The Role This role is about running the floor, building a strong team, and steadily improving how we work. You will be the direct people manager of our ~10-person operations team across Production/Warehouse, Purchasing, and Service – running daily huddles, safety meetings, and regular one-on-ones. This is not a perfect environment with everything built already. The role comes with desk time – scheduling, data, stock forecasts, supplier meetings – but you will need a bias for getting your hands dirty, and a bias for improving things and driving efficiency. As the business grows, there is scope for the role to expand into Engineering/R&D, a future Queensland operations presence, and standing up production of new product lines. Key Responsibilities Directly manage the operations team across Production/Warehouse, Service, and Purchasing Run daily huddles in Production/Warehouse and lead regular safety meetings Hold monthly one-on-one conversations with every team member Oversee daily manufacturing and warehouse workflow to hit build and dispatch schedules Own DIFOT, production output, and production efficiency Manage purchasing so stock always supports the production schedule Lead the Service Lead and Service Techs across service work and fieldwork Drive process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost control Develop and maintain SOPs, lifting quality and reducing rework About You You are a hands-on leader with a bias for getting your hands dirty, even with some desk time in the office – and a bias for improving things and driving efficiency. You will likely be: A supervisor, leading hand, or team leader in manufacturing or production, ready to own the whole floor An operations or workshop supervisor who leads from the front Someone frustrated by poor systems and wanting to improve them What matters: You have led a team in a workshop, production, warehouse, or field service environment You have improved something, whether that is a process, efficiency, or quality outcome You run good rhythms: huddles, safety meetings, and one-on-ones You take safety seriously and lead it by example You are comfortable in a growing and evolving environment You hold standards, coach well, and drive performance What Success Looks Like in 6 to 12 Months DIFOT is on target and production output meets plan Daily huddles, safety meetings, and one-on-ones are happening consistently No production stoppages due to stock-outs Service jobs are completed on time, to standard, safely Quality is improving and rework is reducing The team is engaged, accountable, and improving The floor runs well without the GM needing to step in Experience 5 plus years in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or field service operations 2 plus years leading people Hands-on background – trade qualification or equivalent experience Highly regarded: Mining, civil, industrial, or capital equipment environments Experience with production scheduling and inventory systems; forklift licence Package ~$140K salary, plus super, plus company phone & laptop Team-based bonus scheme Full-time role, based in Forrestdale, WA Apply If you are a hands-on leader who wants to own the floor, build a great team, and make things run better, this will suit you.
