About the role The Wholesale Risk Analyst provides quantitative analysis, development of risk metrics and models across wholesale energy, credit risk, and treasury. Operating within the Middle Office (2LOD), you will deliver position monitoring, daily reporting of risk metrics and compliance derivative reporting, and independent risk oversight of trading activity. You will support the Front Office with timely and accurate information for informed decision-making, ensuring exposures remain within risk appetite to protect EnergyAustralia’s financial position and support sound commercial outcomes. This is a permanent position based in Docklands with a hybrid working environment with at least three days per week in the office. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain quantitative methodology and models to value derivatives for Mark to Market accounting and credit exposure with trading counterparties. Maintain regulatory reporting tools and support compliance with daily ASIC obligations. Build and maintain risk models, analytics, and position reporting solutions using R and Python, with outputs delivered through Tableau and Databricks dashboards. Monitor and report risk exposures, and key risk indicators, providing actionable insights and recommendations to Front Office. Enhance and continuously improve risk management processes to ensure alignment with evolving market conditions and business requirements. About you Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline preferred. Experience in energy markets or commodity trading and financial risk management methodologies and metrics. Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL for modelling, data analysis, and reporting. Proven analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to balance risk and business outcomes.
