About the role: The Aboriginal Behaviour Change Practitioner, alongside the existing team leader, will deliver FDV related services to adult men, who either use or are at risk of using violence in the family context. The role is full time, but there is some flexibility for part time. The role requires demonstrated practice skills to deliver services, expertise in verbal and written reporting, attention to detail, able to work with limited supervision, be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal skills. You will have the opportunity to support the broader Ebenezer initiatives of male wellness. You will report to a Team Lead and Program Manager who will provide supervision and guidance. About you: To be best prepared for the role you will have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the service delivery/counselling space. Ideally you will have demonstrated experience working with men from a diverse background. Our FDV program has a focus on Aboriginal men and men from a CaLD background but is open to all. You will be expected to work with arms-length supervision, show creativity and motivation to succeed, hold a sound understanding of male issues, be able to empathise and challenge male thinking when appropriate and work collaboratively with other staff to maintain worksite harmony. You will have a strong understanding of local Aboriginal culture. Having Aboriginal Identity is a requirement of this position. Essential Criteria: 1. Have at least 2 years working in a service delivery/counselling role, ideally with a focus on men. 2. Under Section 51, Equal Opportunity Act, we believe this role genuinely suits a candidate who identifies as Aboriginal to satisfy an identified need in the organisation. You will need to confirm your Aboriginality in your application if you wish to be considered under this criteria. 3. Holding or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Card and National Police Clearance. 4. Current "C" class automatic driver's licence. 5. Have Certificate III level or higher relevant qualifications, or extensive relevant work experience. 6. Be self-motivated, have good communication and administration skills. Desirable Criteria: 1. Identify as Christian and/or demonstrated ability to uphold the values of the organisation. 2. Past personal experience and/or work experience supporting men who struggle with FDV and/or positive relations in the family context.
