$124,393 - $140,315 up to 15.4% Superannuation Brindabella Park - ACT The Role The Directorate of Honours and Awards (DH&A) delivers medallic recognition to current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and Australian Public Service (APS) Defence employees. It administers awards from both the Imperial and Australian honours and awards systems, covering service from World War One to the present day. The Directorate also develops and maintains the policy framework that underpins Defence honours and awards and related recognition schemes, including the Defence Commendation Scheme. As the Assistant Director Policy, you will lead the Honours and Awards Policy Team to prepare high-quality briefing materials and policy documentation for internal and external stakeholders. You will interpret and apply legislation, policies, and guidelines across a broad range of honours and awards matters. You will engage with key stakeholders, including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Official Secretary to the Governor-General, and the Defence Honours and Awards Appeals Tribunal to cultivate collaborative networks. You will take a proactive and solutions-focused approach to complex issues and enquiries by thoroughly investigating matters and providing well-reasoned recommendations. You will also build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working in a collegiate and collaborative manner within the team and across the Directorate.
