About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and highly organised leader to join the CEO Office as Manager Executive and Project Management Services. This pivotal role leads the Project Management Office (PMO), provides high-level executive support to the Chief Executive Officer, and ensures the effective governance, prioritisation and delivery of strategic projects across the City. The position plays a key role in strengthening organisational performance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the City’s strategic direction through coordinated project governance and executive support. Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure strong governance, prioritisation, and successful delivery of strategic projects aligned with organisational goals. Oversee the operations and workflow of the CEO Office, ensuring effective coordination, professional communication, and timely responses to internal and external stakeholders. Develop, maintain and report on project schedules, dashboards, action plans and governance documentation to support evidence-based decision-making and statutory compliance. Lead, mentor, and support PMO staff, fostering a collaborative culture, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high performance across the team. About the successful candidate The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic and highly professional, with strong leadership capability and demonstrated experience providing executive support in a dynamic environment. You will bring sound judgement, political and organisational awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Other requirements: Demonstrated experience in administrative leadership, executive support, project administration or a similar role. Experience supporting senior executives and coordinating cross-functional project delivery. Demonstrated research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and business analysis tools. Ability to influence, mentor, and lead teams effectively. A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Project Management, Public Administration, Business or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience. What we offer This position is a one-year, full-time parental leave cover role. A remuneration package between $164,488 and $201,114 per annum, inclusive of cash salary and superannuation, is on offer, dependent on skills and experience. Employee benefits 5 weeks annual leave.
