About the Role As a senior member of the Statutory Planning team, you’ll lead the assessment of complex applications and play a key role in ensuring development across the City is well considered, compliant and aligned with community expectations. Your work will span everything from major commercial proposals to rural subdivisions, giving you variety, challenge and the opportunity to influence high quality planning outcomes. You will: Work closely with applicants to navigate planning challenges and deliver positive, practical outcomes Lead the assessment of complex development applications, structure plans and scheme amendments Represent the City in SAT mediations and hearings with professionalism and confidence Support and mentor Planning Officers as they build capability and technical judgement Collaborate across departments to balance compliance, liveability and innovation Contribute to Council reports and briefings that support informed, future focused decisions About You You’re a planner who enjoys detailed statutory work, thrives on problem solving and values the opportunity to influence outcomes through strong technical advice and clear communication.
