Do you have strong policy, research, and project coordination skills, combined with lived experience of mental health challenges? We are seeking a Policy & Project Officer to join our team and help drive consumer-led mental health reform across Tasmania and nationally. About the Role As our Policy & Project Officer, you will lead policy development, systemic advocacy, and project coordination that strengthens consumer participation and influences mental health policy and service reform. You will work closely with consumers, stakeholders, government, and sector partners to ensure lived experience perspectives are at the centre of decision-making. This role also coordinates our contribution to the National Mental Health Consumer Alliance , ensuring Tasmanian consumer voices are represented in national conversations and reform initiatives. What You'll Be Doing Developing policy submissions, position papers, and advocacy materials. Gathering and analysing consumer feedback through consultations, surveys, and advisory groups. Coordinating projects that support organisational priorities and funding outcomes. Supporting Tasmanian participation in national mental health advocacy. Building strong relationships across government, community, and the mental health sector. Developing reports, briefing papers, and evidence-based recommendations. Contributing to organisational strategy, continuous improvement, and consumer participation initiatives. About You We're looking for someone who brings: Experience in policy development, research, advocacy, or project coordination. Strong analytical and written communication skills. Experience engaging stakeholders and facilitating consultation processes. An understanding of mental health systems, reform, or community services. The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively. A lived experience of mental health challenges and a commitment to consumer-led approaches. Desirable experience includes working with consumer advisory structures, contributing to advocacy initiatives, and knowledge of Tasmanian or national mental health sectors. Why Join Us?
