IEPro are working with a highly regarded civil contractor to recruit a Pre-Contracts Engineer to join their Brisbane-based team. This opportunity is ideally suited to a Project Engineer or Site Engineer who has developed strong technical and commercial foundations in project delivery and is looking to transition into the pre-contracts and estimating environment. Working alongside experienced estimators and senior leaders, you will gain exposure to tender strategy, methodology development, cost planning, risk assessment, and bid preparation across a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects. The Opportunity As Pre-Contracts Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of tenders and submissions while drawing upon your practical construction knowledge to help develop competitive and deliverable project solutions. You will work closely with operational teams, estimators, suppliers, and subcontractors to develop methodologies and ensure tenders accurately reflect project requirements and delivery capability. This role offers a genuine pathway into long-term pre-contracts and estimating leadership. The Role In this role, you will: Assist with the preparation of civil infrastructure tenders and submissions Review drawings, specifications, and scope documentation Develop construction methodologies and staging plans Support quantity take-offs and cost planning activities Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing submissions Assist with risk identification and tender reviews Work closely with project delivery teams to capture lessons learnt and construction insights Support bid presentations, clarifications, and tender handovers Contribute to continuous improvement across pre-contracts processes About You To succeed, you will bring: Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering Experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar within civil construction Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery Exposure to roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, structures, or infrastructure projects Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills A desire to build a long-term career within pre-contracts, estimating, or bid management A proactive and solutions-focused approach The Benefits Brisbane-based office role Opportunity to transition from project delivery into pre-contracts Exposure to major civil infrastructure tenders Mentorship from experienced estimating and commercial professionals Strong pipeline of infrastructure projects Long-term career development opportunities A salary package up to $160k super Please note: Only candidates with local Australian based experience and working rights will be considered.
