THE ROLE As Project Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting the work of the Statewide Practice Leadership Unit within the Office of Professional Practice. A key focus of the role is to support the review and evaluation of the SAFER children framework (the risk assessment approach for Victorian child protection practitioners), and associated practice materials and guidance, with a specific focus on the use of the framework with First Peoples children and families. The position will be responsible for scoping and planning a culturally led review of the SAFER children framework and resources, and author an evaluative report including findings and recommendations. The adviser will utilise provided materials in informing their work, including the findings and outcomes of the broader E&I evaluation of the SAFER children framework.You will meet with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Orginsations (ACCOs) who use SAFER or a similar framework as to their experience in applying the framework with Aboriginal children and families to assess risk in a statutory setting. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Support the development and implementation of practice initiatives aimed at improving culturally safe practice with Aboriginal children and families.
