$57.50 per hour (incl. casual loading) On-going casual shifts aligned to project requirements Hands-on work on passenger rolling stock in a safety-focused team environment We're seeking skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to support a large rail maintenance and program on passenger rolling stock. This role is ideal for experienced mechanical tradespeople who enjoy hands-on work, structured processes, and a strong safety culture. What you'll be doing: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs, fault finding on rolling stock systems and components. Using hand tools, torque tools and precision measuring equipment to complete work to specification. Interpreting mechanical drawings, procedures and work instructions. Working safely within rail depots, workshops and confined spaces, following all site and industry safety procedures. Performing manual handling and occasional heavy lifting as part of routine tasks. Committing to Zero Harm by maintaining compliance with all safety, quality and environmental requirements. Completing documentation, checklists and work records accurately. What we're looking for: Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (or equivalent). MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN TRADE/CRAFT CERTIFICATE Current RIW card, or willingness to obtain (including CAT 3 medical and drug & alcohol screening). Strong mechanical aptitude with high attention to detail and commitment to safety. Experience in rail, rolling stock, mining, heavy industrial, defence or manufacturing is highly regarded. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Full Australian working rights. Basic hand tools (specialised tooling provided). What's on offer: $57.50 per hour (incl. casual loading).
