Osborne Richardson is assisting a local Melbourne council with a Team Leader role in the Facilities and Maintenance department to take charge of day-to-day maintenance delivery across council-owned and tenanted facilities. About the role You'll supervise a team of four Maintenance Supervisors while also personally managing your own portfolio of council facilities. You'll be the one triaging requests, prioritising what's urgent, coordinating contractors, and making sure jobs get done properly, safely, and on time — then closing them out with accurate records. What you'll be doing Leading and supporting a team of reactive maintenance staff — allocating work, setting expectations, and helping resolve issues as they come up Managing your own portfolio of facilities end-to-end: triage, contractor coordination, quality checks, and close-out Inspecting completed works on-site, checking quality, safety compliance, and validating invoices Rolling up your sleeves for minor repairs Liaising with facility users and stakeholders to manage expectations and minimise disruption Keeping accurate records in TechnologyOne, including audit trails and lessons learned Spotting and escalating recurring issues, asset risks, and compliance matters What you'll bring A trade or facilities-related certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience in maintenance/contractor coordination Experience supervising field-based staff or contractors across multiple sites Solid understanding of WHS, the Building Code of Australia, and Essential Safety Measures Experience implementing change and service delivery Comfortable using enterprise systems like TechnologyOne (or similar) for work orders and reporting Strong communication skills — you'll be dealing with contractors, council staff, and the public A calm, practical approach under pressure and the ability to juggle competing priorities For a confidential discussion about this role please contact Rebecca at rebecca@osbornerichardson.com.au or 0473 825 278
