We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Pre-Construction Manager to lead the front-end delivery of diverse construction projects and play a pivotal role in driving successful project outcomes. About the Role As the Pre-Construction Manager, you will oversee the early stages of project development, ensuring projects are effectively planned, commercially viable, and positioned for successful delivery. You will lead a team of estimators and designers while collaborating closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Managing project development from concept through to contract award. Developing project pathways, objectives, feasibility assessments, and preliminary budgets. Leading tender submissions, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations. Identifying and mitigating commercial, contractual, and delivery risks. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry partners. Driving collaboration across design, construction, procurement, finance, and operations teams. Supporting strategic planning initiatives and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) processes. Mentoring and developing team members to foster a high-performance culture. Evaluating project opportunities and contributing to business growth and acquisition strategies. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years' experience in project development, pre-construction, estimating, or project management within the construction industry. Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract administration and risk management. Demonstrated success managing pre-contract activities, tender processes, and project feasibility assessments. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience leading teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project stakeholders. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with project management software and commercial reporting tools.
