Job Description YOUR ROLE The Employee Relations Team is a function that is designed to work collaboratively to provide employee relations advice to enable MACS to achieve its future ready goals whilst ensuring it meets its legislative obligations. They provide contemporary advice to schools on employment issues, enterprise agreement interpretation, managing employment concerns, contracts of employment and salaries, policy and guideline assistance, and implementation and training for principals and school leaders. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations, the Case Management Lead is a specialist role combining advanced employee relations advisory expertise with leadership in complex case management. The position provides high-quality advice on complex and sensitive employee relations matters, oversees the management and resolution of escalated cases, and strengthens capability across the ER team and school leadership. WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead and guide the resolution of complex, high-risk and sensitive employee relations cases, applying a consistent approach to oversee and coordinate escalated matters, identify systemic risks and recommend strategic responses. Provide advice to schools and principals on complex employee relations matters, establish best practice standards for case documentation, and ensure procedural fairness and compliance in accordance with the MACS Instrument of Delegation. Prepare high-level briefings, executive summaries and risk assessments for senior leadership, monitor legislative and industrial developments, and provide strategic advice to inform decision-making and escalation of matters as required. Lead ER initiatives and projects, contribute to operational plans, provide advocacy support in the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals, and support service improvement initiatives. Provide consistent technical leadership and mentoring to ER team members, support Senior Advisors, and build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to strengthen capability and employee relations practices across the function. ABOUT YOU Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the resolution of workplace issues and complex cases, with expertise in employment law, workplace relations legislation and contemporary employee relations practice. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including producing high-level case documents and advice for senior stakeholders. High level interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse groups and across a layered organisational structure. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor outside of formal reporting lines, and proven experience leading ER initiatives or projects and delivering high quality outcomes. Demonstrated end-to-end project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timelines in a highly complex working environment.
