About the Role We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team and help deliver the high-quality Greek cuisine our guests love. Reporting to the Head Chef, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a broad range of authentic Greek dishes across all sections of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role requiring strong culinary technique, a passion for Mediterranean food, and the ability to perform consistently in a busy restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Greek dishes, including mezze, grilled meats, seafood, and traditional desserts • Set up and maintain designated kitchen sections in accordance with service requirements • Monitor food quality, presentation standards, and portion sizes to ensure consistency • Follow and contribute to standard recipes, mise en place procedures, and plating guidelines • Manage food storage, labelling, and rotation to meet food safety requirements • Conduct regular checks on ingredient freshness and quality, reporting any concerns to the Head Chef • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation throughout service • Assist with stock ordering, stocktakes, and inventory management as directed • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth, timely service • Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements at all times Skills • Proficient cooking skills across multiple kitchen sections (grill, sauté, prep, cold larder) • Sound knowledge of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques • Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure during peak service periods • Strong knife skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment • Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent) • Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment • Good communication and teamwork skills within a kitchen brigade Experience • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience working as a Cook or equivalent role in a commercial kitchen • Experience preparing and cooking Mediterranean or Greek cuisine (highly desirable) • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or resort kitchen environment • Experience with stock management, food cost awareness, and waste minimisation • Experience working across multiple sections of a professional kitchen Qualifications • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821) or equivalent qualification, or demonstrated equivalent industry experience Important Eligibility Requirement To be considered for this role, applicants must have full-time, unrestricted working rights in Australia for the duration of the employment period.
