Year-End Accountant (Temporary Contract) Immediate Start | CBD-Based Role | Year End Accountant We are currently partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a technically strong Year-End Accountant for an immediate temporary assignment. This is a hands-on contract role supporting the finance team through a critical year-end period, with a strong focus on lease accounting , financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with IFRS 16 . The Role This position will play a key role in supporting the year-end close process, ensuring financial integrity across lease accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting requirements. Working closely with the broader finance team, you will help deliver accurate and timely reporting while providing technical accounting support during a busy reporting period. Key Responsibilities Support the year-end close process, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables Manage and account for leases under IFRS 16 , including reassessments, modifications, and disclosures Maintain and reconcile lease and fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, and depreciation Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and statutory reporting requirements Provide technical accounting support across complex accounting matters Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to resolve reporting issues Support audit requests and ensure compliance with accounting standards Identify opportunities for process improvement and help streamline reporting workflows About You: Strong technical accounting experience within large or complex environments Proven experience with IFRS 16 and lease accounting Prior experience supporting year-end reporting and external audits Strong balance sheet reconciliation and fixed asset accounting experience High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to start immediately and hit the ground running This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and make an immediate impact during a critical reporting period.
