Role Profile Working across business services, tax compliance, and advisory, you will play a key role in supporting a quality client base and contributing to the continued growth of the practice. Your responsibilities will include: Managing a portfolio of business services and tax clients Preparing financial accounts, income tax returns, BAS, ITRs, and other statutory compliance work Working across a range of entity types, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals Providing proactive tax planning, business advice, and general commercial support to clients Reviewing work prepared by junior and intermediate accountants Supporting, mentoring, and training developing team members Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact Assisting with management reporting, benchmarking, and business advisory work Supporting clients with cloud-based accounting systems, including Xero Contributing ideas around process improvement, client service, and the ongoing development of the firm This is a hands-on role, but not a narrow compliance-only seat. You will be close to clients, close to decision-makers, and close to the ongoing growth of the business. Successful Candidate Profile You’re good, and you know you are. You’re comfortable with clients. You can manage the compliance work, review junior staff, and probably already act as the unofficial “safe pair of hands” when something needs to be done properly. We’re looking for someone who brings: 4 years’ experience in Australian public practice Strong business services and tax compliance experience Confidence working directly with clients The ability to prepare and review work across multiple entity types Experience supporting, mentoring, or reviewing junior staff Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines A proactive, commercial, and client-focused approach Confidence working with cloud-based systems, ideally Xero A genuine interest in building a long-term career in public practice The ambition to progress into a broader supervisory or management role Most importantly, you will want to take ownership.Not just of the work in front of you, but of your career.
