Expression of Interest – Industrial Support Officer Internal opportunity for a temporary six-month Industrial Support Officer role. Position Details Duration: Six months Reporting to: Catriona Ellisdon – Lead Industrial Advisor / Lewis Price – Manager Industrial Relations Strategy & Advice About the Role This role offers a development opportunity for someone interested in building their experience with industrial relations matters and case management. The Industrial Support Officer works with both the Member Services Team and the Industrial Team, playing a key coordination role in ensuring that incoming matters are appropriately triaged and allocated based on complexity, urgency, and capability. This position provides valuable exposure to industrial case management processes while supporting the efficient and effective functioning of the Industrial Team. Key Responsibilities The Industrial Support Officer is responsible for: Managing the daily triage and allocation of member enquiries and cases, received via phone through helpline and email, ensuring timely and appropriate assignment. Allocating matters to Member Service Officers and Industrial Advisors in line with complexity and guidance from the Lead Industrial Advisor and Manager Industrial Relations Strategy & Advice Maintaining accurate data entry and record-keeping relating to allocations. Monitoring and managing incoming correspondence in the industrial inbox and ensuring enquiries are addressed, redirected, categorised appropriately (if the matter has already been assigned to an IA/MSO) or allocated promptly. Liaising with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth coordination of matters between teams as appropriate. Maintaining and updating internal tracking tools, including the Agreements Tracker for enterprise agreements. Assisting with the collection and preparation of data for regular internal reporting. Supporting document and file management, including maintaining consistency across templates, guides, and internal filing systems. Preparing briefing notes or background materials on various topics as required. Assisting with the coordination of professional development activities, including bookings and tracking participation. Identifying and escalating complex or urgent matters to the Lead Industrial Advisor or Manager Industrial Relations Strategy & Advice as required. Contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems where opportunities are identified. Preparing weekly industrial team rosters. Undertaking other ad hoc administrative or coordination tasks as required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
