As the Senior HSE Advisor , you'll be the visible, hands‑on HSE partner for operational teams working in complex, high‑risk environments. Your impact will be felt where it matters most in how work is planned, supervised, and delivered safely, every day. You'll influence leaders, coach the frontline, challenge assumptions, and turn HSE strategy into practical, workable solutions that people actually use. What you'll be trusted to do Lead, influence, and improve; not just advise. Partner with Operations Lead priority HSE programs aligned to real operational risk not generic checklists Coach leaders, supervisors, and crews on hazard identification, critical risk controls, and safe work practices Take ownership of significant incidents - lead investigations, support regulator engagement, and drive meaningful learning Strengthen Safety Leadership & Culture Build HSE capability through practical coaching and mentoring Create a fair, just, and learning‑oriented safety culture Encourage high‑quality reporting of hazards, near misses, and incidents and turn insights into action Own Risk, Compliance & Assurance Lead complex and high‑risk assessments and ensure controls are effective and understood Verify critical controls and escalate material risks when needed Design and deliver risk‑based assurance programs (field engagements, audits, inspections) Analyse trends, identify systemic issues, and drive sustainable improvement Engage & Influence Stakeholders Partner with operational leaders, project teams, and contractors to embed safe planning and supervision Lead forums such as toolbox talks, job start meetings, and HSE committees Share expertise, mentor peers, and collaborate across the broader HSE function What you'll bring You're confident, credible, and comfortable in high‑risk environments. ✅ Qualifications & Training Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (postgraduate beneficial) Formal incident investigation training (ICAM preferred) ISO Lead Auditor (desirable) ✅ Experience & Expertise SeniorHSE advisory experienceinhigh‑risk, operational settings such as: Electrical distribution / utilities Construction, maintenance, manufacturing, rail Mining, oil & gas Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and regulator expectations Proven ability to influence leaders, challenge unsafe norms, and partner with contractors The kind of professional who thrives here You're decisive but consultative You're comfortable saying what needs to be said - even when it's hard You simplify complexity and turn insight into action You build trust quickly and lead through credibility, not authority Rosy Ajaka Recruitment Consultant ManpowerGroup is committed to being a Diversity Confident Recruiter and encourages applications from people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including people with a disability.
